I'm setting up a ten gallon, filtered and heated, tank for some female bettas. I plan on having 3 to 5 bettas, with that amount, how many panda corycats would I be able to put? After adding the corys, what other fish would the tank support and be compatible with the corys and bettas?
Female betta tank set-up....?triumph
Before you get slammed with all the trash about 1" per gallon... that's total trash and doen't work. That might well be one of the most harmful myths ever passed off on aquarium keepers.
With 5 female bettas I would suggest 4-5 panda corys. No other fish, but those will do just fine in your 10 gallon tank.

3 Bettas and 3 Cories sounds good.

Technically, even though stores sell bettas in little jars and vases, they should have 2 gallons of water each. And panda corys are a schooling fish, meaning that you would need at LEAST 3-5. It is recommended that schools of corys have 10-15 gallons of water. This would mean that you are already at DOUBLE the capacity of your tank. Plus I'm sure you would want room for a small pleco or algae eater... Maybe it would be better to hold off and research other fish to buy instead, or trade in your tank for an upgrade in size. Talk to a local pet store to see what they recommend. Overcrowding is never a good idea, especially in that small of a tank. Your fish will need their space, and besides, waste build-up will start to become dangerous FAST in little tank set-ups.
only a few.
u might not even need any other fish. if ypu get 2 corys than u can get at least 1 other fish like a guppy or tetra of some sort. just make sur they are compatible.
goodluck
