i have this english hw of symbolism an we have to find an animal that is like me so i picked a panda and i need some traits that pandas have

The panda has a diet that is primarily herbivorous, which consists almost exclusively of bamboo. However, pandas still have the digestive system of a carnivore and do not have the ability to digest cellulose efficiently, and thus derive little energy and little protein from consumption of bamboo. Therefore, they are not lazy, they literally do not have the energy!

Symbolically though, they are very favored. In the past they were thought to be 'rare' and 'noble' creatures, but this is mainly Chinese symbolism, and you mentioned this was some sort of english class so i don't know if looking into that would help.

In more recent times they do still represent 'rarity' (because they are endangered), and also a type of 'innocence' because of their round faces (which helps them eat all that bamboo!) and non aggressive "lazy" stance.

You could also say they are 'protective' because they protect their young fiercely , and 'nurturing' since their babies are pretty much helpless for a long time after birth, unlike some other animals.
